The active ingredient in both formulas, Bacitracin, is an antibiotic that prevents bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

What are the side effects of Bacitraycin Plus?

Typically, there are no side effects. If you do have any unusual effects, like redness, irritation, swelling or pain persists or increases, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

What type of infections does Bacitraycin Plus prevent?

It only prevents bacterial infections and will not work for virus or fungus infections.

How do I use Bacitraycin Plus?

If you are self-treating, it is important to read and follow all directions on the product package. Do not use over large areas of the body or for serious skin infections. Ask your doctor first before using for serious skin injuries (such as deep or puncture wounds, animal bites and serious burns.)

How do I apply Bacitraycin Plus?

Wash your hands first, then clean and dry the affected area. Gently apply a small amount of Bacitraycin Plus (no more than can fit on your fingertip) in a thin layer, usually one to three times a day or as directed by your doctor. You may cover the area with a sterile bandage. Wash your hands after use.

How often can I use Bacitraycin Plus?

For adults and children two years and older, apply a small amount on the area one to three times daily. For children under two years of age, ask a doctor.

What if I get Bacitraycin Plus in eyes, nose or mouth?

If this occurs, wipe off the ointment and rinse thoroughly with water.
