Yes! It is FDA approved and safe to use in accordance with the directions on the packaging. Bacitracin, the ingredient in Bacitraycin Plus, is also often recommended by Dermatologists and Surgeons for wound care.

It can be used on children two and older. If your child is under two, consult with your doctor.

The active ingredient in both formulas, Bacitracin, is an antibiotic that prevents bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Typically, there are no side effects. If you do have any unusual effects, like redness, irritation, swelling or pain persists or increases, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

It only prevents bacterial infections and will not work for virus or fungus infections.

If you are self-treating, it is important to read and follow all directions on the product package. Do not use over large areas of the body or for serious skin infections. Ask your doctor first before using for serious skin injuries (such as deep or puncture wounds, animal bites and serious burns.)

Wash your hands first, then clean and dry the affected area. Gently apply a small amount of Bacitraycin Plus (no more than can fit on your fingertip) in a thin layer, usually one to three times a day or as directed by your doctor. You may cover the area with a sterile bandage. Wash your hands after use.

For adults and children two years and older, apply a small amount on the area one to three times daily. For children under two years of age, ask a doctor.

If this occurs, wipe off the ointment and rinse thoroughly with water.

Aloe vera can be found in both formulas and it has been shown in clinical studies to both soothe and moisturize the skin.

Bacitraycin Plus Maximum Strength has all the same amazing benefits as the original formula, but it also contains pramoxine, a topical pain reliver for pain and itching.
